My name is Aaron Zhang. I'm a start-up founder, mechanical engineer by trade, and manufacturing/supply chain professional primarily in medical device industry. Also writer, programmer, maker, and avid student of life.

Time line for context

  • 1985: born in Shandong, China, 50 miles away from Confucius's birth place.
  • 1991: got a 386 computer to draw circles on
  • 1998: started using CAD software
  • 2003: moved to Wuhan, China for college
  • 2007: moved to Hong Kong for graduate school and research
  • 2008: started shooting phoographs using film SLR and DSLR
  • 2009: finaly learned how to swim
  • 2010: started to 3D print
  • 2011: moved to Boston, MA for graduate school then started work
  • 2012: founded Taomaker to make open source CNC machines, failed in 2 years
  • 2015: started consulting for Boston area startups for manufacturing and supply chain
  • 2016: certified six-sigma black belt
